Principal Protection

Eliminating Volatility can be the primary objective if you need access to the entire balance of your named Fund within the next year.  While the Community Foundation is confident that over time, all of its Funds will appreciate, market volatility can make that difficult in any given year.  The Principal Protection option assures that your principal will be available in its entirety when you need it for charity.

Over $3.0 million of Community Foundation Funds are held in this manner. 

Clients using the Principal Protection option are assessed a fee of $20.00 per distribution from their named Fund -- not to exceed $180.00 total in any fiscal year.  In addition, the Community Foundation retains the interest earned on the monies held.
