Scholarship Information Since the Community Foundation's inception, we have awarded over $1.5 million of scholarships to area students to attend post-secondary institutions. The Community Foundation, in partnership with Scholarships, Inc., administers thirty-seven scholarship programs that provide approximately $200,000 a year in educational assistance to worthy students. Listed below are a few of the Community Foundation scholarship funds for area high school students who will be pursuing post-secondary education. To learn more about any of these scholarship, please contact your high school guidance counselor. The Great Expectations Scholarships is a four-year scholarship of $10,000 a year for Brown County students with an exceptional academic ability and demonstrated financial need. The scholarship is available to those attending the most selective universities in the nation. A list of those qualifying universities and colleges will be provided upon request. The Thomas and Kopchinski Scholarship is a one-year scholarship of $1,000 for Green Bay Southwest and Green Bay East High School students demonstrating financial need and a “well rounded” background. The Tom Garrity Memorial Scholarship is a one-year scholarship of $1,000 for a member of the Junior/Senior Green Bay Classic Traveling League. The applicant must be planning to attend, or currently attending, an accredited post-secondary institution. The Audrey Nelsen Teacher Scholarship is a one-year $1,000 scholarship to encourage graduates of Oconto County High Schools to pursue careers in teaching. Applications are available by contacting the Community Foundation or calling (920) 432-0800. The Trowbridge Scholarship is available to a second or third year law student who is a resident of Brown County. Applications are available by contacting the Community Foundation or calling (920) 432-0800. The application deadline is July 1. The Cora and Cletus Vanderperren Scholarship is a two-year $500 a year scholarship for Brown County students with a demonstrated financial need pursuing an education in nursing, political science, agriculture or education at a college in the State of Wisconsin. The Sy and Bernice Ward Scholarship is a one-year scholarship ranging from $500 to $2,000 for Brown County students who have a demonstrated commitment to community service and are intent on pursuing an education in technology, medicine, nursing, education, engineering, business, accounting or law. The Emily J. Willegal Memorial Scholarship is a one-year $750 scholarship for Green Bay students who are pursuing education in the hospitality industry at an accredited post-secondary institution.
