Community Impact
We are proud of the many accomplishments of the organizations that receive funding, as well as the donors who provide funding to meet the needs of our community. While it is not possible to share all of our good news stories, we hope that you will find those we have chosen to tell to be inspiring.

CASA of Brown County – a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization – recruits, screens, and trains everyday citizens from the community to be the voice of abused and neglected children in the courtroom.
Childhood obesity is a problem with far-reaching consequences for individuals and communities. Find out what the Bellin Kidshape program is doing to address this issue head on in Northeast Wisconsin, with the help of a Community Foundation grant through the Funds for Greater Green Bay and many generous partner donors.
Literacy Green Bay, formerly the Literacy Council of Brown County, was formed in 1981 as an adult tutoring program for Southeast Asian refugees. The organization has expanded programming to include undereducated English-speaking adults and adults and families of all ethnicities.
The ultimate goal of the Child Advocacy Center is to break the cycle of child abuse by focusing on meeting the needs of its youngest victims and their families. The CAC will be a child-friendly, home-like facility where seven local nonprofits already involved in child abuse cases work together to provide comprehensive care.
The Dental Health Expansion Project, which began in the summer of 2008, has increased access to dental care for children and adults who are on Medical Assistance or uninsured. The program is a result of the partnership between Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and the Brown County Oral Health Partnership.
The Hidden Homeless, a 30 minute documentary on homeless teens, was partially funded by the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation. The documentary presents the voices of four homeless teens: Savannah in Green Bay, Amber in Milwaukee, Scott in Manistique, MI and Todd in Escanaba, MI. The program features the stories of these four youth who reveal their hopes and dreams for the future and talk about people and agencies that helped them. Agency representatives discuss the services that supported the four youth to help them to move on to productive and rewarding lives.
Mental healthcare is a barrier to self sufficiency for some of the most chronically homeless in Northeast Wisconsin. With this in mind, seven local non-profits have teamed up to make a more effective system of mental healthcare available at key shelter sites through the area.
Using a holistic approach that incorporates the Mind, Body, and Soul, Triple Play educates children and teens about good nutrition, making physical fitness a daily practice, and developing individual strengths and good character.
The annual U.S. Oil Open took place on August 12, 2009. This year's event raised a record amount of money for the U.S. Oil Fund for Basic Needs.
