Field of Interest Fund Details
Field of Interest funds are established by a group of donors who wish to contribute to a cause or an area of concern but do not want to designate a particular organization. The Community Foundation uses the guidelines established by the donor, as well as the Community Foundation’s extensive knowledge of the community to select grant recipients using a competitive application process.
Basic Services
Grant application process for competitive grant making.
Grant evaluation: final reports, site visits, discovery visits, meetings and consultations with grantees.
Grantee selection. We setup and develop procedures for granting committee structures.
We pool your gift together with others so the impact is greater. See our
Giving Opportunities
webpage where donors can make easy and safe online donations directly to funds.
Professional investment management.
History of giving and granting is maintained, as well as recordkeeping and archiving of electronic and/or paper format.
The Community Foundation features and markets the fund for asset building and grant making.
Recording and acknowledging donor gifts.
Memorials/Honorariums fund raising; acknowledgements are sent to both the donor and honoree.
Our Investment Practices
All funds are pooled with the charitable resources of over 500 other families, businesses, and non-profit organizations. Pooling funds provides greater potential for better returns at a lower cost. These assets, currently valued at more than $65.0 million, are spread over a broad group of investment classes to ensure a balanced portfolio.
Basic Fee Services
The administrative or management fee for all services is currently 1.25% annually with no minimum balance based on the following fund balances:
First $2,500,000: 1.25%
Next $1,500,000: 1.05%
Next $1,000,000: 0.95%
Remaining balance: 0.85%
