Unrestricted Funds are established by donors who wish to contribute to a fund that supports any community issue or sector as determined by the Community Foundation. The Community Foundation uses the guidelines established by the donor, as well as the Community Foundation’s extensive knowledge of the community to select grant recipients using a competitive application process. This fund type is the Community Foundation’s most responsive vehicle to address the changing needs in Northeast Wisconsin.

Our Investment Practices
All funds are pooled with the charitable resources of over 500 other families, businesses, and non-profit organizations. Pooling funds provides greater potential for better returns at a lower cost. These assets, currently valued at more than $65.0 million, are spread over a broad group of investment classes to ensure a balanced portfolio.
Basic Fee Services
The administrative or management fee for all services is currently 1.25% annually with no minimum balance based on the following fund balances:
- First $2,500,000: 1.25%
- Next $1,500,000: 1.05%
- Next $1,000,000: 0.95%
- Remaining balance: 0.85%
