Scholarships

Since the Community Foundation's inception, we have awarded over $1.5 million of scholarships to area students to attend post-secondary institutions. The Community Foundation, in partnership with Scholarships Inc., administers thirty-seven scholarship programs that provide approximately $200,000 a year in educational assistance to worthy students. Listed below are a few of the Community Foundation scholarship funds for area high school students who will be pursuing post-secondary education. To learn more about any of these scholarships, please contact your high school guidance counselor.

Scholarship Name: The Bollom Nursing Scholarship
Amount: $1,410 for one year
Fields of Study: Nursing
Requirements: Applicants must be Brown County residents who have a demonstrated financial need and are pursuing an education in nursing at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, or Bellin College of Nursing. To apply, contact Scholarships Inc. or your local high school guidance counselor.


Scholarship Name:
The Anton and Lottie Delmont Scholarship
Amount: $9,000 for one year
Fields of Study: All Majors Accepted
Requirements: Applicants must be students from Green Bay or De Pere who are pursing a program of study at a college or university. Scholarships are awarded based on students’ academic achievement, record of community service and extracurricular activities. Scholarship Name:
  Emil & Gail Fischer Northeast Wisconsin Master Gardeners Annual Award
Amount: Minimum of $1,000/year
Fields of Study: Horticulture-related field (Botany and plant ecology, horticulture science, forestry, entomology or plant pathology)
Requirements: Students must attend a two or four-year fully accredited college or university and demonstrate financial need. Applicant must have been residing for at least one year in Northeast Wisconsin, which includes Brown, Door, Kewaunee, Oconto, Shawano, Outagamie, or Manitowoc Counties, and be a state of Wisconsin resident. To apply, fill out the application form and return it to Cathie Day by April 1.
 

Scholarship Name: The Tom Garrity Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 for one year
Fields of Study: All Majors Accepted
Requirements: Applicants must be a member of the Junior/Senior Green Bay Classic Traveling League. The applicant must be planning to attend, or currently attending, an accredited post-secondary institution. To apply, contact Cathie Day or your local high school guidance counselor.


Scholarship Name:
The Great Expectations Scholarship
Amount: $10,000 for four years
Fields of Study: All Majors Accepted
Requirements: Applicants must be Brown County students with an exceptional academic ability and demonstrated financial need. The scholarship is available to those attending the most selective universities in the nation. A list of those qualifying universities and colleges will be provided upon request. To apply, contact Scholarships Inc. or your local high school guidance counselor.


Scholarship Name:
The Fran Growt Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $1,500 for one year
Fields of Study: All Majors Accepted
Requirements: Applicants must be De Pere High School students with demonstrated financial need. Students must write a personal statement as part of the application process. To apply, contact Scholarships Inc. or your local high school guidance counselor.


Scholarship Name:
The Audrey Nelsen Teacher Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 for one year
Fields of Study: Education
Requirements: Applicants must be graduates of an Oconto County high school who are pursuing careers in teaching. To apply, contact Cathie Day or your local high school guidance counselor.


Scholarship Name:
N.E.W. Master Gardeners Association Horticulture Scholarship
Amount: No less than $400 per student per year
Fields of Study: Horticulture-related field (Botany and plant ecology, horticulture science, forestry, entomology or plant pathology)

Requirements: Applicants must be De Pere High School students pursuing an education in nursing. Scholarships are awarded based on students’ academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. To apply, contact Scholarships Inc. or your local high school guidance counselor.

The Rotary Club 279 Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 for one year
Fields of Study: All Majors Accepted
Requirements: Applicants must be Brown County residents. Scholarships are awarded based on students’ academic achievement and demonstrated financial need. To apply, contact Scholarships Inc. or your local high school guidance counselor.


Scholarship Name:
The Thomas and Kopchinski Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 for one year
Fields of Study: All Majors Accepted
Requirements: Applicants must be Green Bay Southwest or East High School students with demonstrated financial need and a “well rounded” background. To apply, contact Scholarships Inc. or your local high school guidance counselor.


Scholarship Name:
The Trowbridge Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 for one year
Fields of Study: Law
Requirements: Applicants must be second or third year law students and residents of Brown County. The application deadline is July 1. The scholarship amount varies. Scholarship Name:
The Vanderheiden-Willey Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 for one year
Fields of Study: All Majors Accepted
Requirements: Applicants must be minority students from Brown County who are pursuing an undergraduate’s or associate’s degree. Students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 to qualify. To apply, contact Scholarships Inc. or your local high school guidance counselor.


Scholarship Name:
The Vanderheiden-Willey Wrightstown Scholarship
Amount: $1,000 for one year
Fields of Study: Education
Requirements: Applicants must be Wrightstown High School students who plan to study Education at a Wisconsin college. Students must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 to qualify. To apply, contact Scholarships Inc. or your local high school guidance counselor.


Scholarship Name:
The Cora and Cletus Vanderperren Scholarship
Amount: $500 for two years
Fields of Study: Agriculture, Education, Nursing, Political Science
Requirements: Applicants must be Brown County students with a demonstrated financial need who are pursuing an education in nursing, political science, agriculture or education at a college in the State of Wisconsin. To apply, contact Scholarships Inc. or your local high school guidance counselor.


Scholarship Name:
The Sy and Bernice Ward Scholarship
Amount: $2,000 for one year
Fields of Study: Accounting, Business, Education, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Technology
Requirements: Applicants must be Brown County students who have a demonstrated commitment to community service and are pursuing an education in technology, medicine, nursing, education, engineering, business, accounting or law. Scholarship awards range from $500 to $2,000. To apply, contact Scholarships Inc.  or your local high school guidance counselor.


Scholarship Name:
The Emily J. Willegal Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $750 for one year
Fields of Study: Hospitality Industry
Requirements: Applicants must be Green Bay students who are pursuing education in the hospitality industry at an accredited post-secondary institution To apply, contact Scholarships Inc.  or your local high school guidance counselor.
