Nonprofit participants celebrate the launch of Give BIG Green Bay 2023 at the “Countdown to Kickoff” event inside Johnsonville Tailgate Village, February 21.

Green Bay, WI – The results are in! From noon Feb. 21 until noon Feb. 22, Give BIG Green Bay generated over $2.47 million in donations to 45 nonprofit organizations serving Brown County. Since launching in 2018, donors have gifted more than $10.4 million to continue the important work that nonprofits are doing in every corner of our community – from education and human services, to housing, health and wellness, community improvement, youth development, the environment, the arts, and more.

“Give BIG Green Bay is a celebration of all the ways nonprofits touch every single one of our lives.” said Dennis Buehler, President and CEO of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation. “The strong support shown by the community will not only have a significant impact on the work nonprofits are doing but is also a testament to just how much their work is valued.”

Give BIG Green Bay is a 24-hour online giving day presented annually in February by the Green Bay Packers and Greater Green Bay Community Foundation. The event provides a platform for selected organizations to create awareness of the issues our community is facing, educate the public about their critical work, and reach new supporters.

This year’s program inspired 3,828 unique donors to make 6,795 gifts to the nonprofits of their choosing. More than 37% identified themselves as new donors to at least one of the organizations they supported. This reflects the greater awareness that Give BIG Green Bay is bringing to these organizations and the work they are doing in our community.

With the Packers Foundation’s $250,000 matching funds and other generous contributions from donors and community partners, Give BIG Green Bay 2023 offered more than $522,500 in matching funds and incentives. Every dollar contributed will make an even greater impact on our community due to the commitment of these visionary donors.

The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation will underwrite all program expenses, allowing 100% of the matching pool and incentives to support the work of local nonprofits. Participating nonprofits will receive a portion of the match based on the percentage of dollars they raised.

While most donations were made by donors in Northeast Wisconsin, organizers noted that support in 2023 came from donors from across the country and globe. Donors from 41 states supported organizations in Brown County, reflecting the far-reaching impact of this community-wide effort.
