April 27, 2020 - The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation is seeking applications from nonprofits in Oconto and Kewaunee counties in need of funding to support increased service demands due to the strain of COVID-19. Funds are currently being directed to organizations supporting the critical basic needs of community members. Nonprofits can apply through the Community Foundation’s website at www.ggbcf.org . More than $742,000 has reached some of the most immediate calls for assistance throughout Brown, Oconto and Kewaunee counties thanks to generous donors and community partners. With a grant from the Community Foundation’s Emergency Response Fund Kewaunee County Food Pantry can continue providing the family meals to community members facing food insecurity. In Oconto County, New Beginnings can continue supporting the childcare needs of their foster parent participants who are essential workers in the community. “Communities throughout Kewaunee and Oconto counties are facing unique needs at this time, and we encourage the nonprofits working in those rural areas to reach out to us,” said Amber Paluch, Vice President of Community Engagement The Emergency Response Fund of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation is a central pool of funds donated by individuals and businesses that nonprofits in Brown, Oconto and Kewaunee counties can access for support during the COVID-19 crisis.
