Eligibility
The Gordon Elmyra Hobbs Scholarship is designed to encourage graduating seniors or past graduates of Crandon High School to pursue post-secondary education in accounting or business. Applicant must plan to attend an accredited technical college, university, or graduate business program. All scholarships require a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5 (or 2.0 college G.P.A.) and 1.5 high school course credits in business education. The technical degree scholarship requires applicant to have completed 3 high school course credits in math, and the bachelor’s degree scholarship requires 4 math credits. Talk to your counselor early to learn what courses may qualify as business education.
Award Criteria
Scholarship awarded based on math credits, G.P.A., and evaluation of one-page essay.
Amount
- $4,000 over two years – students pursuing an associate degree at a 2-year accredited college or university.
- $8,000 over two years – students pursuing a bachelor’s degree at a 4-year accredited college or university.
Students can reapply.

April 1, 2024
Administration
It is Community Foundation policy that all portions of the scholarship process be completed by the student applicant. If we learn that any part of the process is not completed by or the work of the student, the application may be removed from consideration or an awarded scholarship revoked.
Application Procedure

The application process will take 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete. The system times out so SAVE your work often! - Documents

- Student Aid Report (SAR) showing Expected Family Contribution (EFC). This report is available after you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
