Our Grants Program

The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation awards grants to improve the quality of life in Brown, Kewaunee and Oconto counties. We support effective and innovative organizations that are working to solve problems and strengthen our community.

Due to the impact the COVID-19 crisis has had on our community nonprofits, we are currently considering requests for operational support in addition to specific program needs.


COVID-19 Response
Application Deadline: Ongoing
Application Type: Online
Purpose: This fund will provide nonprofit organizations with flexible resources to address the impact of the COVID-19 public health crisis on our community, including immediate basic needs, gaps in service and operational challenges. 

Stand Together Foundation

Application Deadline: October 1
Application Type: Online
Award Amounts: Minimum $10,000
Purpose: This program funds measurable strategies to move people from the brink of poverty to a place of economic stability and self-sufficiency. All proposals are encouraged, with priority given to requests that address housing stability, education and workforce development, and human services and basic needs programs addressing the root causes of poverty.

Funds For Greater Green Bay

Application Deadlines:  January 11 and July 1
Application Type: Online
Award Amounts: $3,000 - $20,000
Purpose:  This general granting program is open to all nonprofits.  We consider all proposals but we encourage and give priority to requests that align with the following community priority areas:  arts and culture, education, environment, health, human services, basic needs and neighborhoods & community. 

Basic Needs Giving Partnership - Planning & Implementation Grants

Application Deadline: February 1
Application Type: Download
Planning Grant Award Amounts: $10,000 - $15,000 for one year 
Implementation Grant Award Amounts: Up to $300,000 over 3 years
Purpose:  The Fund for Basic Needs is a field of interest fund created to invest in solutions so all people in Northeast Wisconsin are self-sufficient and able to fully participate in the life of the community.

Basic Needs Giving Partnership - Regional Grants

Application Deadline: February 15
Application Type: Download
Award Amounts: Up to $100,000 a year for up to 3 years
Purpose:  The Fund for Basic Needs is a field of interest fund created to invest in solutions so all people in Northeast Wisconsin are self-sufficient and able to fully participate in the life of the community.

Women's Fund of Greater Green Bay

Application Deadlines: January 11 and July 1
Application Type: Online
Award Amounts: Up to $20,000
Purpose: This program funds leadership and self-esteem initiatives for women and girls. We encourage and give priority to creative proposals that support leadership and self-esteem initiatives for women and girls in northeast Wisconsin.

Nonprofit Impact Initiative Capacity-building grants

Application Deadlines: April 15 & October 15
Application Type: Online
Award Amounts: Up to $7,500
Purpose: This program will provide grants for capacity-building initiatives identified and submitted by nonprofit organizations serving communities in Northeast Wisconsin, specifically, Brown, Door, Kewaunee and Oconto counties.  Learn more about this initiative

Ashwaubenon Education Foundation

Application Deadline: March 23
Application Type: Online
Award Amounts: Typically up to $2,000
Purpose: This program funds projects initiated by staff, students, and parents in the Ashwaubenon School District that develop and inspire students to be model community and world citizens.

Crime Prevention Foundation

Application Deadline: June 30
Application Type: Online
Award Amounts:  Up to $3,000
Purpose: This program funds projects in Brown County that reduce or eliminate the desire, ability or opportunity to commit a crime.

R. Bruce & Alyce S. Kopseker Trust

Application Deadline: May 16 
Application Type: Online
Award Amounts: Up to $25,000
Purpose: These funds are for projects that help older adults who live north of Sturgeon Bay in Door County remain in their homes.

School Spirit Educational Endowment

Application Deadline: October 28
Application Type: Online
Award Amounts: Typically up to $1,000
Purpose: This program funds projects initiated by staff, students or parents in the Green Bay Area Public School District that implement innovative or enhanced learning activities.
