Funds for Greater Green Bay grants program supports record number of organizations across Northeast Wisconsin

$323,100 awarded to 45 organizations through 2026 summer grant cycle

September 14, 2026 — Forty-five nonprofit organizations were awarded a combined $323,100 from the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation and its fundholders through the Funds for Greater Green Bay summer grant cycle to improve lives, strengthen communities, and respond to evolving needs.

Funds for Greater Green Bay grants are awarded twice each year, in summer and winter, to organizations serving Brown, Kewaunee, and Oconto counties. During each grant cycle, the Foundation invites its fundholders to co-invest in grant applications that align with their charitable interests. With nearly $95,000 in additional funding contributed by Foundation fundholders, this cycle marked a record number of grant applications supported through the program.

“Connecting generous people with important community needs is at the heart of what we do,” said Kari Olsen, director of grants and scholarship programming for the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation. “By combining the generosity of our fundholders with the Foundation’s grantmaking, we’re able to reach more organizations and support more of the work that helps our communities thrive.”

The awards will support a wide range of community needs, including food access, housing stability, youth development, health and well-being, environmental conservation, arts and culture, and community improvement.

Organizations and programs awarded during the 2026 summer cycle are:

• ArtBeet | Day of the Arts: Funds will support ArtBeet’s 2^nd annual Day of the Arts, a free community event for Kewaunee County celebrating creativity through hands-on workshops.
• Aspiro | Aspiro Services: Funding will help bridge critical gaps in essential services that support people with disabilities.
• Bay Area Council on Gender Diversity | General Operating Support: Funding will provide support groups, education, and advocacy for transgender persons, their families, and allies.
• Bay Area Workforce Development Board | Transitions to Success: Funds support the collaboration of six Brown County organizations working together to help youth aging out of foster care achieve stability and independence.
• Boys & Girls Clubs of the Bay & Lakes Region | General Operating Support: Funds will help the organization sustain high-quality youth programming.
• Bridging Brighter Smiles | Dental Equipment: Funding will replace aging equipment to allow the dental team to provide preventive care for students in Luxemburg, Casco, Wrightstown, Algoma, and Kewaunee.
• Brown County Oral Health Partnership | General Operating Support: Funding supports efforts to deliver no-cost dental care to low-income and uninsured children throughout the region.
• CASA of Brown County | General Operating Support: Funds will help ensure children who have experienced abuse or neglect receive high-quality advocacy throughout their involvement with the child welfare system.
• Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Green Bay | Financial Health Services Program: Funding will provide free financial counseling to help individuals and families become economically stable.
• Center for Childhood Safety | Safe Routes to School: Funds will support the Safe Routes to School program, which empowers children with the knowledge and skills they need to travel safely.
• City of Green Bay | Green Bay Conservation Corps: Funding will allow the Green Bay Conservation Corps to continue restoration and volunteer engagement across Northeast Wisconsin.
• Denmark Community Cupboard | Food Pantry: Funds provide a one-time investment to stock and launch an expanded pantry facility within the new OneDenmark Community Center to meet growing community needs.
• Downtown Green Bay | Pine Street Plaza: Funding will support the Pine Street Plaza project to strengthen the connection between Washington Street and the City Deck by enhancing visibility, safety, and access to the riverfront.
• Ecumenical Partnership for Housing | Eviction Prevention Program: Funds support eviction prevention services to help families at risk of homelessness remain in their homes.
• Empowered Tutoring | Shoulders to Stand On Program: Funds will support one-on-one tutoring and mentoring services for students at Green Bay Southwest High School.
• Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin | Prevention Education: Funding will support the Sexual Assault Center’s prevention education and confidential advocacy services for children in Brown and Oconto counties.
• Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin | Filling Food Gaps: Funding will be used to purchase highly sought-after foods, including protein, dairy, and eggs, for distribution to six pantry partners serving Kewaunee and Oconto counties.
• Foundations Health & Wholeness | Removing Barriers to Care: Funds will help address common barriers to care so more people can access timely, high-quality mental health services regardless of language, financial circumstances, or other challenges.
• Freedom House Ministries | Removing Barriers to Housing: Funding will help families experiencing homelessness or housing instability build the skills, resources, and connections needed to secure permanent housing and move toward long-term sufficiency.
• Friends of the Pulaski Adult Activity Center | Community Meals: Funds support the Community Meals Program to provide free luncheons, community information, resources, and social connection to the older adult population.
• Greater Green Bay YMCA | Healthy Aging Programs: Funds support health aging programs to provide fitness classes, wellness education, and social connection for older adults and caregivers.
• Green Bay Area Public Schools | Preble Challenge Day: Funding will support Green Bay Preble High School’s Challenge Day to cultivate unity, inclusivity, and belonging among students and staff.
• Green Bay Botanical Garden | Community Plant Project: Funds support the Community Plant Project, which grows and donates nearly 4,000 edible plants a year to schools, nonprofits and Paul’s Pantry.
• Green Bay Community Theater | General Operating Support: Funding will support the continuation and growth of Green Bay Community Theater’s performances and programming.
• Green Bay Sail & Paddle | Adventures in Sailing: Funds will help provide hands-on sailing experiences for individuals with disabilities, people underserved and marginalized communities.
• Howe Community Resource Center | General Operating Support: Funding will help sustain the center’s programs and ensure families continue to have access to reliable resources that support healthy development and success in school and life.
• HSHS St. Vincent/St. Mary’s Foundation | Pregnancy & Infant Loss Support: Funds will support the Northeast Wisconsin Share Chapter to provide bereavement support and resources to help families navigate grief with consistent support.
• Journey to Adult Success | Housing and Support: Funding will support the addition of a case manager to help youth aging out of foster care successfully transition to adulthood.
• Kingdom Come | General Operating Support: Funding will be used to purchase healthy foods and support general operating expenses for the pantry.
• Love Life Ministry | Supplies for Low-Income Families: Funding will help supply basic needs items to low-income families with infants and toddlers living in the Green Bay area.
• N.E.W. Community Clinic | Diabetes Education: Funds will help expand registered dietitian services within the medical clinic to help patients with chronic conditions improve their health and better manage their care.
• NEW Bird Alliance | Oneida Bird Monitoring Program: Funding will support the bird monitoring program, as well as the printing and distribution of the Birds of the Oneida Nation guide, which incorporates Oneida culture, history, and language.
• Northeast Wisconsin Land Trust | Protecting Green Bay Waters: Funding will allow the organization to continue to protect water quality by conserving land along lakes, rivers, and streams while keeping these areas open to the public for recreation.
• NorthLakes Community Clinic | School-Based Behavioral Health Access: Funds will support school-based behavioral health services in Oconto County regardless of insurance or ability to pay.
• Patriot Racing Project | Schooner Utopia: Funding will support the continued restoration, maintenance, and operation of the vessel Utopia, which is the primary setting for Patriot Racing Project programming to bring veterans together through sailing.
• Reach Out and Read | Rx for Literacy: Funding will provide high-quality programming at 2,000 annual well-child visits and clinics in Brown, Kewaunee, and Oconto counties.
• The Mauthe Center | General Operating Support: Funds will help the Mauthe Center create community conversation and strengthen interfaith connection.
• Tourism & Economic Development Corp. of the Oconto Region | Grocery Feasibility Study: Funding will be used to conduct a grocery store feasibility study for the Village of Suring.
• Ukwakhwa | Growing for Our Elders: Funding will help provide culturally significant foods for the Oneida Elder Food Box Program while expanding community education and Indigenous food sovereignty.
• Urban Cultural Arts & Event Center | General Operating Support: Funding will support the organization’s inclusive and adaptive arts programming for children, adults, and families.
• Veterans 1^st of NEW | General Operating Support: Funding will support the organization as it transitions from construction to full program operations at the Veterans 1^st Village.
• Violence Intervention Project | 24-Hour Helpline: Funds will provide crisis response, advocacy, and supportive services for individuals affected by interpersonal violence in Kewaunee County.
• Wisconsin Humane Society | Veterinary Care: Funding will provide essential veterinary care and community vaccine and microchipping clinics at the Green Bay campus.
• YWCA of Greater Green Bay | Comunidades Program: Funds will sustain and deepen the Comunidades Program to give Hispanic/Latino families space to belong and strengthen social connection and well-being.
• Zoological Society of Kewaunee County | Environmental Education Center: Funding will support the final phase of the new Environmental Education Center at Bruemmer Park Zoo in Kewaunee County to provide a dedicated space for field trips, community groups, and animal education.

Greater Green Bay Community Foundation grants are awarded based on a competitive application process, which includes review by a grants team of community volunteers. Applications for the next Funds for Greater Green Bay grants cycle will open November 1, 2026. The deadline to apply will be January 11, 2027. More than $6 million has been awarded through the program since 2002.
