July 20, 2021 – On April 15, 2013, Dr. Natalie Stavas had just run 26 miles and was about to finish the Boston Marathon when bombs detonated at the finish line. Instead of turning around and running away with the crowd, she ran towards the chaos and saved four lives.
Boston Marathon hero, humanitarian and award-winning physician Dr. Natalie Stavas will share her inspirational story at the 16th Annual Power of the Purse luncheon on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the KI Convention Center.
Dr. Stavas has received the Boston Foundation’s Change Maker award, and in 2013 she received the Bostonian of the Year Award. She has been honored by President Obama, and featured on CNN, BBC, CBC and Fox News. She has also appeared on the cover of Runner’s World Magazine and Sports Illustrated.
The Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay is grateful to have Dr. Stavas speaking at the Power of the Purse, the primary fundraising event for the Women’s Fund of Greater Green Bay. The event on September 16 includes a popular silent auction of high-end purses and an engaging program. Women and men are encouraged to attend to learn more about the Women’s Fund cause of empowering women and inspiring girls in our community.
Doors for Power of the Purse will open at 10:00 a.m. for networking, to view the silent auction, and to purchase raffle tickets. Lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the program featuring Dr. Stavas to follow. Virtual tickets will also be available for those who wish to attend virtually.
