Dennis Buehler named President & CEO

January 31, 2017 – The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation is pleased to announce the selection of Dennis Buehler as its next President and CEO. A Green Bay native, Buehler will return to the community and begin his new position in early March.

Over the course of his career, Buehler has led a number of nonprofit organizations. He currently serves as Executive Director of the Oregon Ballet Theatre in Portland, Oregon, an organization of 200 employees. Buehler has led numerous strategic collaborative efforts and has spent much of his career stewarding relationships. His experience is well aligned to advance the mission of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation.

“The Community Foundation is a dynamic place that unites people, institutions, and resources,” Buehler said. “I could not be more excited about returning home to lead an organization solidly at the intersection of understanding the unique needs of the community and helping advance solutions.”

Buehler grew up in Green Bay and graduated from Green Bay Southwest High School. He has remained connected to the community through family and friends and is looking forward to bringing his family home. Buehler and his wife of 23 years, Treena Rice-Buehler, an artist originally from Manitowoc, Wisconsin, have two daughters, ages 9 and 12. Dennis and Treena are near lifelong Wisconsin residents, and their deep family ties extend across the state. They enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, and exploring the outdoors. Growing up in Green Bay, Buehler is also a passionate Packers fan and shareholder, so you know exactly where to find him on Sunday afternoons.

Buehler replaces David Pamperin who announced his retirement in October after leading the Community Foundation for 10 years. A nationwide search led by Spano Pratt Executive Search produced 138 candidates for the position. The Community Foundation Search Committee was impressed with both the number of candidates and the quality of the people who applied.

“We were very impressed with the credentials of candidates who applied for the position. In the end, Dennis’ experience in the nonprofit sector, his strategic leadership abilities and his ties to the community made him the best fit for the job.” – Chris Woleske, Chair, Greater Green Bay Community Foundation Board of Directors
