Give BIG Green Bay is Back for Year 5

Green Bay, WI – January 13, 2022 – Give BIG Green Bay is celebrating five years of impact. The Green Bay Packers Foundation and Greater Green Bay Community Foundation will host the fifth annual community-wide giving day from noon February 23 until noon February 24, 2022. Give BIG Green Bay 2022 will highlight the work of 45 local nonprofit organizations working to improve lives in our community. The Green Bay Packers Foundation will offer $250,000 in matching funds and incentives to encourage everyone to donate, at any level.

Give BIG Green Bay is an innovative program that connects those who serve to needed resources.
The combined four-year total of this unique effort has exceeded $5.5 million of support for local nonprofits. Last February, more than $2.085 million was raised in 24 hours through the generosity of 4,854 donors. More than 43% of these donors self-identified as new to the organization they supported.

On February 23 to February 24, from noon to noon, people everywhere can donate to support the work of 45 local participating nonprofits by visiting giveBIGgreenbay.org. This online giving event provides nonprofits with a platform to tell their story and encourages contributions of any amount to make a BIG difference in Brown County. The Give BIG Green Bay team will work closely with participating nonprofits using social, print, and broadcast media to create awareness about this exciting 24-hour event. Additionally, the nonprofits will encourage their own networks and supporters to amplify the impact.

Save the Date:
Give BIG Green Bay
Noon, February 23, 2022 – Noon, February 24, 2022

The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation will underwrite all program expenses allowing 100% of the Green Bay Packers Foundation’s $250,000 commitment to be allocated as matching funds and encouraging our community to give BIG.  Thanks to these funding partners, every dollar donated during the 24-hour giving day will go even further to support important work happening in our community.

“We are so proud to be part of Give BIG Green Bay once again and to encourage people to participate in this incredibly special day,” said Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy. “For five years now, Give BIG Green Bay not only has raised money for a wide variety of nonprofits, but has grown the connection between these organizations and the community. We look forward to highlighting them and we invite everyone to donate at any level.”

The 45 participating nonprofits represent a cross-section of nonprofits serving our community. They are diverse in size and range from established organizations with wide-ranging services to newer organizations focused on emerging needs. This year, 38% of the participating nonprofits are first-time participants. The combination of experienced and new nonprofits is sure to bring a powerful energy to Give BIG Green Bay 2022.

“We believe every act of generosity creates hope and has the capacity to transform lives,” said Dennis Buehler, President and CEO of the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation. “The outpouring of support this community continues to provide our local nonprofits is doing just that. This is a day to express gratitude for all the organizations who continue to make a difference in our lives.”
