Greater Green Bay Community Foundation welcomes Director of Equity, Community Initiatives
July 13, 2023 – The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation is excited to announce Zianya Saldaña as its new Director of Equity and Community Initiatives.
As Director of Equity and Community Initiatives, Saldaña will build upon the Foundation’s commitment to fostering an inclusive community of diverse thought, perspectives and individuals through equitable practices, collective impact work, nonprofit capacity building, and related grantmaking. She will also work closely with nonprofit leaders to ensure the Community Foundation is a relevant resource for their needs addressing community issues.
“I am excited to step into this role that combines the ability to support and collaborate with nonprofits with the opportunity to lead efforts that will continue to grow and evolve our policies, strategic planning, and grantmaking processes in a way that is equitable and inclusive of diverse populations and needs,” Saldaña said.
Saldaña brings more than 10 years’ experience engaging and supporting diverse populations through her previous roles in student services at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC). Her passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) led to her involvement in several campus DEI initiatives and programming, as well as facilitating DEI educational trainings and workshops. In 2020, she led the creation of NWTC’s Women of Color Network Employee Involvement Group.
“Her experience in building relationships as well as her dedication to understanding and advocating for diverse and inclusive practices will strengthen the Community Foundation’s leadership on community initiatives,” said Amber Paluch, the Community Foundation’s senior vice president of community impact. “We are thrilled to have her on the team.”
