7th Annual Give BIG Green Bay raises record $3.04 million
100% of donations will support the work of 50 nonprofit organizations in Brown County
February 29, 2024 – The results are in! During the 24 hours of Give BIG Green Bay 2024, donors generated a record $3.04 million to support the work of 50 local nonprofits. These donations will continue the important work these organizations are doing in every corner of our community – from education and human services, to housing, health and wellness, community improvement, youth development, the environment, the arts, and more.
This year’s program inspired a record 5,617 unique donors to make 9,871 gifts to the nonprofits of their choosing. Thirty-eight percent identified themselves as a new donor to at least one organization they supported. This reflects the greater awareness that Give BIG Green Bay brings to local nonprofit organizations and the work they are doing in our community.
Give BIG Green Bay is a 24-hour online giving day presented annually in February by the Green Bay Packers and Greater Green Bay Community Foundation. The event provides a platform for selected organizations to create awareness of the issues our community is facing, educate the public about their critical work, and reach new supporters. Across all seven years, the event has raised more than $13.5 million for 138 nonprofits in Brown County.
With the Packers Foundation’s $250,000 matching funds and other generous contributions from donors and community partners, Give BIG Green Bay 2024 offered more than $500,000 in matching funds and incentives. Every dollar contributed will make an even greater impact on our community due to the commitment of these visionary donors.
The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation will underwrite all program expenses, allowing 100% of the matching pool and incentives to support the work of local nonprofits. Participating nonprofits will receive a portion of the match based on the percentage of dollars they raised.
While most donations were made by donors in Northeast Wisconsin, organizers noted that support in 2024 came from donors from across the country and globe. Donors from 38 states and in five countries supported organizations in Brown County, reflecting the far-reaching impact of this effort.
